Stephen Brown AKA Johny Nashville was born into a musical
family. His dad Mark, wrote for numerous major record labels,
including: RSO, Whiteway, Epic, Columbia and Sony.
While he was still very young he formed a family group, called,
Laura & The Boys. They played out at numerous local venues,
building quite a fanbase.
As life started to change and one by one the family band members
went off to college the groups dynamics changed as well.
Stephen, soon found himself as a lone performer, playing football
and performing his music out in the small college town of Alfred,
New York.
“Just me and my guitar working to pay for college expenses,”
Stephen says.
After college he reunited with his sister Laura and one of his
brothers, Jeff to form the band, “Rodeo” featuring country twang
with a tinge of rock thrown in for good measure.
Jeff dropped out and Laura got married and group soon became
know as Rodeo Drive, which is comprised of Stephen and
sometimes his sister Laura or another female vocalist.
While performing in Nashville, they were approached by a music
executive, who was the then head of Warner Nashville.
They were immediately offered a development deal with the label.
By this time Stephen was bitten by the Nashville bug, and he once
again started to perform out as a solo artist, armed with an arsenal
of his father’s original tune.
He soon coined the name Johny Nashville.
Join him on his quest to obtain fame and fortune, through his
unique blend of country music and lyrics.
He now performs as a solo artist under the name Johny Nashville
and with his group under the name Rodeo Drive.
